By Request (Sort Of) - The Molly Maguires (1970) (Henry Mancini)


Here's another forum request (this time made by 'GilinAZ') that I was going to post eventually, but the request just accelerated it, so here it is! I think another reason that I haven't posted this great score until now is that I couldn't remember if Ibiza had already posted it (and if he did, my apologies, but at least you get my lame scans to make up for it). This is the score from the Richard Harris / Sean Connery coalmining movie. There's always at least one theme in Henry Mancini's pre-1980's scores that jumps out at me or that I automatically think of when you mention the score, and in this one it's the main theme and the 'Pennywhistle Jig'. Well, if you were in a dilemma as to what music to play the next time you were coalmining, I hope this solves your problem. Enjoy!

My Great Grandmother Mattie Stacey was pure Irish. Celebrated every St.Pat's Day with her before moving to L.A.

Her husband was a coal miner in southern Illinois.
It's definitely one of Henry's best. Thank you, this is special.
